Vimarsh was brought up in Delhi but was born in Srinagar to a family of Kashmiri Brahmins - a cohesive community which is highly literate and socially elite. Apart from fashion, his love for travel is immense, Iceland and Amalfi Coast being his favourite places to stay at and seek inspiration. Alpana, on the other hand, was born to a Customs Officer and had the chance to travel all over India while growing up. Avid reader, party animal and devourer of all things fashion & style; Alpana loves to be surrounded by family and friends. She also loves to travel and try global cuisines. Vimarsh & Alpana share a mutual love for pets!

The beginning…
While planning to pursue Chartered Accountancy, Vimarsh cracked the NIFT entrance exam and that changed the course of his career. He worked in the apparel export industry for 16 years where he got the opportunity to travel & work closely with global brands before introducing his own fashion brand. Alpana is a management graduate but her keen sense of style right from early childhood led her to pursue a PG course in Fashion Management from NIFT. She began her fashion journey with the Italian brand Benetton and was instrumental in setting up a sourcing base for brands like NEXT (UK) . Driven by a strong sense of business acumen and her love for western haute couture, she constantly steers innovative designs at Attic Salt.

Attic Salt was created to bring to the surface the beautiful work of local artisans. Keeping the work of local artisans relevant in modern India where western-wear is becoming a large part of everyone’s daily lives is the focus at Attic Salt. Beautifully handcrafted embellishment techniques meet western silhouettes to create unique designs. Affordable luxury and making customers feel exclusive and special fulfils the brand’s purpose. Attic Salt brings to the customer the latest global fashion at affordable prices.
