Born in an engineer’s house in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Anmol Sharma had the privilege of spending his childhood in a lush green neighbourhood. Two things got his attention: sports and the art room. His inclination towards art and crafts has been from an early age. Anmol represented his school many times in various art competitions. He was recognised as the creator of the year for 3 consecutive years.

The beginning…
Having worked at multiple places for more than 5 years, Anmol was still looking for contentment in regards to positive fashion. Anmol devoted himself to focused research on sustainable fashion and was amazed to see the various initiatives worldwide. With time, his perception grew and he started to put together a roadmap towards the conscious world of fashion. In a couple of years, the vision finally came to life and Dhātu Design Studio was born.

Founded by Anmol Sharma, a fashion designer from NIFT-New Delhi with over a decade of industry experience, the classic menswear label has minimalist aesthetics and a utilitarian design approach. Designed for comfort & longevity the collection features a utilitarian anti-flip pocket for eyewear. With a keen focus on cultural skills and provenance Dhatu Studio practices community-based development & responsible sourcing of traditional Indian handloom textiles. The collection is entirely crafted in handloom and natural fibre fabrics like Hand-woven Ahimsa silk, Hand-woven cotton denim, pure hemp and organic cotton. Sustainability is an explicit company value and is encouraged to be considered in all decision-making.

GenNext 2020 Collection. A showcase of possibilities, an amalgamation of ideas, and experiences gathered through time. Concept “Dress to Reform” states that the products serve a purpose throughout its life, sourcing fabric from handloom weavers help support the traditional Indian culture of weaving, the problem solving utilitarian styling and design details make it sharp, natural fabrics keep the wearer at ease and provides comfort, and at the end of life these materials are recyclable, compost friendly, and biodegradable.
