The beginning…
“My love for human connection took me to Boston University to get a degree in Psychology, after which I studied design at The New School, Parsons in NYC. I had the opportunity to work with a trend consultancy in Paris, and write lyrics for rappers in New York and finally, after learning and working with the design teams of Pearl by Marchesa, Nanette Lepore and textile-focused designers such as Duro Olowu, I made my way back home to Mumbai a few years ago to start my own niche design label, House of Sohn, with the purpose of using local weaves to create a new-age contemporary look,” muses the designer.

HOUSE OF SŌHN – a women’s contemporary label – was created as a way to tell inspiring stories about women, art and culture from all over the world. It uses fabric as its medium, and women as the blank canvas. Each outfit is a piece of her and each collection, a vignette of her life. The comfortable fabrics, unrestricted silhouettes and calming colour palette are all a celebration of that free lifestyle.
