Julie Shah
Julie was born and raised in Kolkata, the hub of traditional weaves and fabrics. Her mother and her aunts posed as her earliest influences and going for saree shopping with them as a child was the key to her ever-increasing interest in myriad hues, textures, weaves and draping techniques. Marriage relocated her to Mumbai & Dubai. The varied cultural influences, her exposure to intricate hand embroidered sarees owned by her mother-in-law and her passion to wear distinctive apparel made her experiment with silhouettes, unique colour pairings and intricate surface texturization. Family has always been of utmost importance to her, and the time she spent with them is what she values more than anything as it has left a lasting impact on her life. Julie has also always had a keen interest in dance, exploring new cultures, and art.
