“I was brought out of a small town in Rajasthan, then was further sent to a boarding school when I was 14, I have been living in Jaipur for the past 10 years”,says the designer. Aarushi Kilawat is a fashion graduate from Pearl Academy and holds a short specialisation in Print textile & Fashion Styling from Nottingham Trent University, UK. She is a solo traveller, an artist at heart and also has been working as a social activist for the last 5 years.

The beginning…
Aarushi Kilawat always wanted to work for a cause and perceived designs as something which serves the purpose & solves the problem. She was inclined toward art & design from a very young age. “I wanted to make voices heard and bring handlooms back in vogue through my designs & craft”, the designer says.
The Loom Art
The Loom Art stands for our love for handloom and core admiration towards art. The label focuses on reviving the old and dying authentic craft, embroidery and weaving techniques in this fast fashion dominated world. The Loom Art is a fond effort to give a platform to these artisans, weavers, embroiderers, sample person, craftsmen to come together and co-create. It's a collective narrative of emotions of all the creative souls involved in this process. Story narration is an important part of our brand and we get inspired from our everyday lifestyle & try to interpret them through self narrative craft techniques. Sustainability is the core value of our brand. I have always believed in designing something that serves a purpose and solves a problem, and I wanted to make voices heard and bring handlooms back in vogue through my designs & my brand.
