Vishala Shree
"I want to create beautiful things," Vishala always had this response ready for when people asked her what she wanted to do when she grew up. However, when the designer learnt that she could pursue a career in designing clothes, she immediately realised that's what she wanted to do. Her work is emblematic of India – on one hand, it’s a juxtaposition of different patterns coming together to form a syncretic whole; on the other, it embodies ‘reduce and reuse’. She had found her calling.
