Product Description
Exquisite vintage chapati box with delicate engravings on a solid brass box with a hinged lid and a beautiful floral design handle handcrafted by skilled artisans. This box adds delightful decor to your home and has a solid latch to which a padlock could be added to lock it. The lid flips back wholly flat when open. It can also be used for storing jewelry & keepsakes.
NOTE
Crafted in brass. These Indian bread boxes, or Roti ka Dabba as popularly known, were used for centuries to keep the freshly baked homemade round fluffy Chapatis or rotis made of wheat flour bread for the main meal and passed around by the womenfolk of the house from this box. This item is for decorative purposes only. Not suitable for use in the kitchen. Each piece is handcrafted and will vary from piece to piece, as worked upon by artisans. Cracks, indentations, knots and other imperfections are considered part of the natural characteristic of these vintage products.
