Winning the title of ‘Czar of Indian Couture’, JJ Valaya had led the foundation of luxury fashion in India. Maharani of Kapurthala was a visitor at the JJ Valaya atelier and was in awe of the designs. She described the designer as the future of the past. The maestro designer is globally recognized for his craft and couture. He draws his inspiration from the opulence and timeless spirit of royalty.

JJ Valaya has translated his knowledge of the rich Indian art and culture into hand embroideries and contemporary style exhibiting opulent bridal trousseau and wedding wear for brides and grooms. Borrowing elements from cultural roots and showcasing his couture brilliance, JJ Valaya’s wedding wear looks like what dreams are made of.

Beyond wedding couture, JJ Valaya expands his creative expertise in art, home and lifestyle. Establishing his forte in hand crafted tapestries, the designer created luxury spaces specializing in furniture, art and home decor accessories.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
JJ Valaya ushered into the world of fashion pursuing the course in the only fashion institute in India, NIFT. He then launched the eponymous label in 1992 and established himself as one of the pioneering fashion designers of India. Bringing in a modern revolution and leading the lineage of groundbreaking Indian fashion, he became the founding member of the Board of Governors of FDCI and brand ambassador of Swarovski.

JJ Valaya won the Prix D incitation at Paris, Thapar-Dupont Medal, The Elyxa Award, KLM NIFT Trophy early in his career.
Collaborations
JJ Valaya collaborated with Ruth Carter to create costumes for an Amazon Original movie. JJ Valaya created a limited edition collection of jewellery in collaboration with the globally-known crystal giant, Swarovski.
