Elysian by Gitanjali is a Kolkata based fashion label founded in 1999 by designer Gitanjali Fatehpuria. The label grew big first globally, hitting international markets such as Japan, London, France, Italy, Spain, Australia and parts of the Middle East and finally launched its flagship store in Kolkata in 2016. The brand started off from its parent brand Gitanjali Designs which is an export company that creates embroideries and embellishments with beads and sequins and exports them. Even though Gitanjali never had a formal training in fashion design, she always had a calling towards designing. Being with Gitanjali Designs for a large number of years, it was completely natural to open up a label once the sewing unit was set up. The label has dressed known names such as Gauhar Khan, Jennifer Winget, Sana Khan, Amrita Rao and Rachel White.
