Unniyarcha Jewellery at Pernia’s Pop Up Shop

The founder and creative head of Unniyarcha Jewellery — Divya Nambiar was always interested and passionate about designing even after graduating in finance from Columbia University. Her early inspiration was through her mother, as she used to design her own jewellery. Divya launched her jewellery brand in 2015, with the idea of evoking women’s strength and beauty. The brand was inspired by a beautiful 17th-century female warrior in Malabar (present-day Kerala) in India, named Unniyarcha. She was known for her beauty, grace, valour and fierce spirit. She adorned herself with various jewellery, including a flexible sword (Urumi) as a belt around her waist. Divya aims that the brand should be globally known so that the Indian Handicrafts can be found around the world. Every piece of the collection is made keeping in mind the strength and beauty of the women. The collection depicts fusion jewellery with a unique blend of contemporary and traditional designs in 18-carat gold and 92.5 Silver.
